Dzherelo, de kyiv au donbass est un ensemble de photographies et d'archives réalisées et réunies à la suite de rencontres et de conversations menées avec dix personnes déplacées du Donbass en guerre et installées aujourd'hui à Kiev. Dzherelo évoque le cycle de destruction/reconstruction dans lequel ces destins individuels ont été happés. Le titre de ce travail est emprunté au sanatorium Dzherelo (la source) ou de nombreux déplacés ont trouvé refuge en arrivant à Kiev. Dzherelo raconte l'exil de ces individus à travers une illustration photographique de certains aspects de leur récit (histoires familiales, métiers exercés, objets emportés, situation actuelle). La ville de Kiev et sa proche campagne devenant, au fil des rencontres, le territoire d'investigation et se révélant, à plusieurs endroits, comme un lointain reflet du conflit. Les archives issues de collections personnelles et de livres donnent à voir des personnalités disparues en lien avec les déplacés, soulignent le carrefour ethnique que fut le Donbass ainsi que le passé industriel et minier de la région qui, dans presque chaque récit, furent mentionnés. Dzherelo procède par allers-retours entre passé et présent, entre un territoire quasi inaccessible aujourd'hui pour la majorité des personnes rencontrées et la capitale ukrainienne. Enfin, Dzherelo tente de saisir leur histoire, les départs précipités, la perte des habitations, l'éloignement familial et la reconstruction qui se joue aujourd'hui, trois ans après.

Dzherelo is a set of photographs and archives which were produced and gathered after meeting with 10 people who left war torn Donbass and are now living in Kiev. Dzherelo recalls the cycles of destruction and reconstruction into which these individual destinies were drawn. The title, Dzherelo was borrowed from a sanatorium in Kiev where a lot of displaced persons have taken refuge in 2014. Dzherelo tells us about the exile of these people through a photographic illustration of different aspects of their stories (family stories, job skills, objects taken with them, present situation).The city of Kiev and its close countryside have become our area of investigation and has shown itself to be a distant reflection of the war. The archives obtained from personal collections and books allows us to see the connections between people who disappeared and displaced persons and underline the ethnic crossroads that was Donbass as well as the industrial and mining past of the area, all of which was brought up in every conversation. The procedure followed by Dzherelo was to go backward and forward in time, between a territory that is almost out of reach nowadays for most of the people we have met, and the Ukrainian capital. Finally, Dzherelo attempts to catch their stories, the hurried departures, the loss of homes, the estrangement from families and the reconstruction which is taking place today, 3 years later.
